The Crown, The Mandalorian og WandaVision dominerer nominasjons-heatet til årets Emmypriser, mens HBO og Netflix kniver alene i toppen med totalt 130 og 129 nominasjoner.

Netflix-serien The Crown og DisneyPlus-serien The Mandalorian fikk 24 nominasjoner hver, mens WandaVision – også den en Disney-produksjon – fikk 23 nominasjoner.

Det mest oppsiktsvekkende med årets nominasjoner er at for første gang i Emmyprisens historie består minst halvparten av de nominerte innen de ledende dramakategoriene av fargede skuespillere. Totalt består 56,3 prosent av alle skuespiller-nominasjonene av hvite skuespillere. Det må kunne sies å være et vesentlig framskritt. Så gjenstår det å se hvordan balansen ser ut når vinnerne offentliggjøres 19.september.
