I kveld norsk tid ble årets nominerte til Emmyprisene offentliggjort. I de 26 kategoriene var det større mangfold enn hva Oscarnominasjonene de siste årene har kunnet skilte med, noe som gjenspeiler tv-dramaets plass til et bredt register av rollefigurer. Serier basert på såkalte virkelige hendelser fikk også svært mange nominasjoner. HBOs Game of Thrones fikk hele 23 nominasjoner, med miniserien The People v. O.J. Simpson (foto) på en «annen plass» med 22 nominasjoner. Fargo fikk 18 nominasjoner mens Veep fikk 17.
