Fem norske animasjonsprosjekter til Cartoon.

57 prosjekter fra 16 land er valgt ut til årets Cartoon Movie – et samproduksjons- og pitching-arrangement for europeiske animerte spillefilmer som finner sted i den franske byen Bordeaux, Nouvelle-Aquitaine 4.-6. mars. Hele fem filmprosjekter er norske, noe som gjør oss til den tredje mest representerte nasjonen, sammen med Spania og Tyskland. Europas største og viktigste pitche-event finner sted i mars neste år og er blitt stadig viktigere for den norske animasjonsbransjen. Både Titina og Kvitebjørn Kong Valemon har vært innom Cartoon Movie.

Beneath the Waves / Under bølgene
«After a perilous journey across the Mediterranean, Eva (12) and Rami (6) finally reach Europe. Separated from their parents during the crossing, they end up in a refugee camp. Weeks turn into months. Rami, longing for their parents, believes theyre in the mermaid Vegas world, a safe place their mother sang about in a lullaby. Eva, fearing they drowned, dismisses this as fantasy.One evening, Rami sneaks out to the beach and spots a luminescent mareel in the sea, which his mother said marked the entry to Vega’s world. As he wades in, he grows a mermaids tail and jubilantly calls for Eva. Convinced, she joins him, and together they dive into Vegas world, determined to find their parents.»

Cocobanana and the Dinosaur Hunt / Kokosbananas og dinosaurjakten
«Cocobanana is half coconut, half banana and 100% ingenious inventor. When he moves to Nutbay, he puts all his efforts into finding a best friend. A Peanut- girl called Pea is fascinated by the crazy boy, but her best friend Leif Lime is jealous and does not want to share her. Then Cocobanana does the only logical thing he can think of. He creates a robot dinosaur equipped with AI to win over Pea. What could go wrong? Everything ends in chaos when a herd of dinosaurs takes over the village. Now Cocobanana must team up with Pea and his rival Leif, to stop the rampaging dinosaurs.»

How to Deal with Shattering Geists / Oppskrift mot ånder som knuser ting
«Henry Mafaye (10) lives alone with his father after Henrys mother left them when Henry was young. The two are doing okay as long as Henry doesn’t talk about his mother. If he mentions her name, violent winds arise and crush everything around him to splinters. Henry’s mother is a shattering geist. A shattering geist afflicts those who loved the person the most and can destroy an entire house. No one really knows why the geists appear, but they are related to things that cannot be spoken about. Henry’s dad believes they should keep calm and carry on, but after a terrible accident at school, Henry understands it is time to figure out how to deal with shattering geists.»

«Odins once trusted advisors, the ravens Huginn and Muninn are thrown out of the Gods realm of Aasgard and down to Midgard. In desperation, they decide to seek out Tor who is last seen touring Midgard with his sister Loki, and steal his hammer to use it to get back home. But the fierce jotuns led by the avengful Mime also want to get hold of the mighty hammer to avenge their defeat by the Gods.»

Ludolf at Anger Academy / Ludof lemen og Sinnaskolen
«The angriest animal on the planet is the lemming. The angriest of them all was Angerbuck. He saved the lemming village many times with his fury. No predator dared to eat Angerbuck. He became a legend. His grandson LUDOLF, however, is a happy misfit of a lemming, dangerously unable to get angry, and considered a threat to the lemming flock. Ludolf is banished and deported to the Anger Academy, where the mad professors train the hopeless students in mastering the arts of angry languages, rebellious math and raging gymnastics as defence against all predators. When the lemming king puts the flock in life threatening danger, Ludolf has to step up and save the day.
