Zentropa har endelig sluppet traileren til Lars von Triers nye film Melancholia, en av årets mest etterlengtede filmer. Av traileren å bedømme er Melancholia minst like vakkert fotografert som Antichrist, men langt mindre provoserende.

Lars von Trier har uttalt følgende om handlingen:

“In ‘Melancholia’ I start with the end. Because what is interesting is not what happens but how it happens! So we begin by seeing the world being crushed, then we can tell the story afterwards. In this way you don’t have to sit and form theories about what will happen, but can delve down into some other levels and become interested in the pictures and the universe – that’s what I imagine.”

Filmen får sannsynligvis verdenspremiere på filmfestivalen i Cannes. Kirsten Dunst, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling, Charlotte Gainsbourg og Udo Kier (et kjent ansikt for von Trier-fans) er noen av skuespillerne som er med.
