Amerikansk ros til Menn som hater kvinner

Menn som hater kvinner har amerikansk kinopremiere i dag under den mindre bombastiske tittelen The girl with the dragon tattoo, og  de amerikanske kritikerene har vært veldig positive i sine anmeldelser. Spesielt får filmen ros for Niels Arden Oplevs stemningsfulle regi og Noomi Rapaces sterke tolkning av Lisbeth Salander.

“Lisbeth is as compelling as any movie character in recent memory. Played by Noomi Rapace with an unwavering intensity(…)Rapace makes the character compulsively interesting.” Roger Ebert – Chigago Sun-Times.

Flere av kritikerene stiller seg også skeptisk til den kommende amerikanske remaken.

“According to recent industry news, David Fincher is already considering directing a remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, a Swedish film adaptation of the first book in Stieg Larsson’s posthumously published, bestselling Millennium trilogy. But it’s hard to say what the director of Seven and Zodiac could bring to a film that’s already as dark, moody, and vice-focused as Seven, and as intricately procedural as Zodiac. Niels Arden Oplev’s Dragon adaptation is already a poisonous gem, in large part thanks to fearless performances and an unwaveringly graphic sensibility that doesn’t flinch at the most horrific parts of Larsson’s story.” Tasha Robinson – A.V. “This dynamite thriller shivers with suspense. So if you ignore The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo because it’s in Swedish with English subtitles, you probably deserve the remake Hollywood will surely screw up.” Peter Travers – Rolling Stone Magazine.

Kanskje vil kritikerene være mer positive til hva Fincher kan gjøre ut av Millennium-trilogien når den langt svakere oppfølgeren, Jenta som lekte med ilden, kommer på amerikanske kinoer.
